Convert 160+ world currencies in seconds — the same mid-market rates banks use between themselves, shown honestly with no hidden markup added by us.

Mid-market rates, updated daily — for information only, not trading rates. Banks and exchange offices charge a markup, so the rate you actually get will differ.

Exchange Markup Calculator

Banks, airports and exchange offices rarely give you the mid-market rate — they quietly keep a slice. Enter the rate you were offered and this tool reveals the hidden fee, in percent and in real money.

Mid-market rate loads automatically — the offered-rate box is pre-filled 3% worse so you can see how the fee is worked out.

Remote Salary Converter

Got a job offer or a client in another country? Convert an annual salary into a second currency and break it down into monthly, biweekly, weekly and hourly pay (based on a 40-hour week) so offers are easy to compare.

Gross pay before tax. Hourly rate assumes 52 weeks × 40 hours = 2,080 working hours a year; biweekly = annual ÷ 26.

About CurrencyKit

CurrencyKit is a free set of currency tools built for travelers, remote workers, online shoppers and freelancers who deal with money across borders. Every rate on this page comes from live public data — the same mid-market (interbank) rates that banks trade at among themselves — covering more than 160 currencies, plus European Central Bank history back to 1999 and live crypto prices from CoinGecko.

We show the mid-market rate because it is the fairest reference point there is: it lets you see exactly how much a bank, card or exchange office is adding on top. We never add a markup of our own, we never ask you to sign up, and every tool runs right in your browser.

One honest note: mid-market rates are for information only — they are not trading rates, and no consumer can exchange at exactly this rate. The rate you actually receive will include your provider's markup and fees, which is exactly what our Exchange Markup Calculator is for.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the bank rate different from the rate shown here?

The rate on this page is the mid-market rate — the midpoint between what banks buy and sell at on the global market, with nothing added. Your bank, card provider or exchange office takes that rate and adds a markup (often 1–4%, and 5%+ at airports) plus sometimes a flat fee. That difference is their profit. It is not a scam, but it is rarely shown clearly — use our Exchange Markup Calculator to see exactly what a quoted rate costs you.

What is a mid-market (interbank) rate?

It is the real exchange rate banks and large financial institutions use when trading currencies with each other, and the rate you see quoted on the news. It moves during the trading week as supply and demand change. Consumer services start from this rate and add their margin, so it is the best benchmark for judging whether an offer is fair.

How often are the rates updated?

The converter rates refresh once a day from our data provider (the timestamp above the converter shows the exact update time) — daily rates are the standard for cash, travel and invoice conversions. Historical rates come from the European Central Bank's daily reference data, available back to 1999. Crypto prices are fetched live from CoinGecko each time the tool runs.

Can I actually exchange money at these rates?

No — nobody exchanges at the exact mid-market rate, because every provider adds a margin. Think of the rates here as the "true" price of a currency: the closer an offer is to the mid-market rate, the better the deal. Comparing offers against this benchmark is the easiest way to avoid overpaying.

Is CurrencyKit free? Do I need an account?

Yes, completely free, and no account or sign-up is needed. All ten tools run in your browser; the only data fetched is exchange-rate data from public sources.

Why do crypto prices here sometimes differ from my exchange app?

CoinGecko aggregates prices across many exchanges, while your app shows its own exchange's prices plus its fees and spread. Small differences are normal — and with crypto's volatility, prices can also move between the moment this page loads and the moment you check your app.
